AdCongress22 opens Thursday

NAGA CITY -- About 4,000 local and foreign delegates coming from five sectors of the advertising industry -- advertisers, agencies, suppliers, market research and media -- are all set for Thursday’s opening ceremonies of the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) at the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC).

Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez, who is one of the country’s advertising pillars, will open Thursday’s ceremonies with the theme, “Change the Game”.

A game changer himself, Jimenez was in marketing communications creation and management for over three decades.

The AdCongress22, proclaimed as the first ever digital ad congress in its history, will open with a 360-degree video presentation specially prepared by the programs committee. Jimenez will then deliver his keynote address.

Delegates will have a morning on social media and how it changes the game with Charlene Li, co-author of Groundswell; Charles Cadell, regional managing director, McCann Worldgroup; Patrick Shult, chief executive officer, Freemantle Media Asia; Ricky Ow, senior vice president and general manager, SPE Networks Asia; and Laura Wendt, vice president and managing director, Disney Channels – Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Southeast Asia.

In the afternoon, game-changing lessons will be shared by Filipino game changers: Film Director Brilliante Mendoza, Industrial/Furniture Designer Kenneth Cobonpue, and some Team Azkals members, Alexander Charles, Luis Borromeo, Phillip James Younghusband, and James Joseph Younghusband.

Delegates will also learn from speakers John Miller, chairman and chief executive officer, Nestlé Philippines Inc.; Joeri Van den Bergh, co-founder and Gen Y Expert, InSites Consulting; and Mark Tutsell, chief creative officer, Leo Burnett Worldwide.

Participants will also get tips from fashion industry panelists, Marlon Rivera, fashion designer/president and chief creative officer, Publicis Manila; Vince Uy, creative director, Preview Magazine; and Pauline Suaco-Juan, editor-in-chief, Preview Magazine.

Meanwhile, Camarines Sur Governor Luis Ray Villafuerte welcomed the participants in a Smart-Cignal Governor’s Night Wednesday.
