Mayor lauds Council support to his projects

MAYOR Jed Patrick Mabilog has lauded the full support and cooperation shown by the Iloilo City Council to his various development projects for the past two years.

In a New Year’s call by the City Council lead by Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III at the city mayor’s office on Wednesday, Mabilog said the strong partnership and unity between the office of the chief executive and the Council has produced positive results for projects benefiting the city.

Mabilog cited the business influx at the city by showing a strong business friendly atmosphere that recently props up Iloilo City as one of the top five performing cities in the Philippines.

Mabilog also invited members of the City Council to attend the January 18 unveiling of plans of the Gaisano Capital expansion amounting to more than P1 billion additional investments in the city.

Among the completed projects through a public private partnership (PPP) in the first two years term of Mabilog are the Iloilo City Community College, Iloilo City Hall, Esplanade project at the Iloilo River, mangrove reforestation, and bird sanctuary.

Soon to start construction are the Parola terminal project at the Parola area and the Ro-Ro and fastcraft terminals at the Lapuz area.

Meanwhile, Espinosa assured the council’s full cooperation on development projects of the City Government.

With Espinosa during the courtesy call are Councilors Joshua Alim, Perla Zulueta, Nielex Tupas, Ely Estante, Jason Gonzales, RLeone Gerochi, Plaridel Nava, Lyndon Acap, Rodel Fullon Agado, David Jamora, Sheen Marie Mabilog and ex-officio member Carlos Guarin.

Absent were oppositionist Councilors Jeffrey Ganzon and Edward Yee.
