Drug pusher injured in escape attempt

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was injured when he tried to escape while being transported to a police headquarters in Zamboanga City.

City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (CAIDSOTF) chief Senior Inspector Elmer Solon identified the suspected pusher as Toy Jawaji, 31, a resident of Tumaga village.

Solon said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2 p.m. Wednesday in Tumaga village, 4.3 kilometers (km) northeast of the city.

Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were two small-sized plastic sachets of suspected shabu and a motorcycle.

Solon said the suspect jumped out of the window of the L-300 van while being transported to the police headquarters.

The suspect sustained slight injuries when he crashed on the pavement, he added. (Bong Garcia)
