PRINCE of Rock Bamboo Mañalac is joining Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo on the judging table in the upcoming singing reality competition "The Voice of the Philippines".
As coach, the rock star will guide and mentor new talents and help them stay in the competition.
"I think I am very much ready to coach. There is a time for everything and I believe this is my time," he said.
The singer added that he's looking for artists who are eager to try new genres in music and someone who's willing to learn.
"I've been listening to rock for a long time but I also listen to other genres from rock to pop to folk to everything. I want someone who is open to all kinds of music; someone who is willing to listen and willing to learn," he said.
Bamboo made a name for himself in the industry by being a front man of bands Rivermaya and Bamboo. In 2011, the band Bamboo disbanded and soon after, the singer launched his solo career.
Bamboo released hit songs Mr. Clay, Light Years, Hallelujah, Hudas and Noypi.
"The Voice of the Philippines" will premier second quarter of this year and on-ground auditions will take place in Bacolod, Iloilo, Tacloban and Cebu on February 23; General Santos, Zamboanga, Cagayan De Oro, and Davao on March 2; and in Palawan, Laoag, Naga, Legazpi, Baguio, Dagupan, and Manila on March 9.
The reality show is hosted by Toni Gonzaga. (Sunnex)
