Lea Salonga sits as judge of 'The Voice of the Philippines'

International theater actress Lea Salonga will join Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo and rock star Bamboo in judging contestants of the upcoming Kapamilya singing reality competition "The Voice of the Philippines".

Lea made the announcement on her official Twitter account.

"It's official: I am a coach on THE VOICE OF THE PHILIPPINES! I wonder who coach #4 will be. @thevoicephils,” she said.
On the show’s television plug, Lea said honesty and 35 years of singing experience will help in her new role.

"I want in my team singers who are pitch perfect. I don’t want them singing off key. I cannot teach being in tune to somebody—either you are or you are not. If you’re not, I’ll just say goodbye to you. I believe that there are lots of talented people out there," she added.

The singer started as a child stage actress before becoming a Tony-award winning Broadway star in hit musical “Miss Saigon” in the late 1980s.

Hosted by Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo, the “Voice of the Philippines" will air by second quarter of this year. (Sunnex)
