Ateneo cops 4 Sakya titles

THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) clinched four titles in the just-concluded 4th Sakya Filipino Chinese Football Cup held at the Tionko field over the weekend.

AdDU went home with the boys 14-under title at the expense of Philippine Academy of Sakya, Anakk Sta. Cruz, and SOS Children’s Village that placed second, third and fourth, respectively. Joshua Lim was named most valuable player (MVP) of the same category.

The AdDU girls 12-under team, powered by MVP Jelli Diamante, prevailed over Sakya and SOS for the crown. Sakya and SOS took the next two spots in the bootfest organized by Sakya Football Club and officiated by the Davao Football Association.

MVP Jigger Martinito lifted the Ateneo boys 12-under squad that bested Black Knights, Mintal and SOS for the coveted crown of the 7-A-Side tournament.

In 10-under, MVP Ceasar Feliciano-led Ateneo A stamped rivals Mintal, Ateneo B and Black Knights.

The Cross FC also shared the limelight by emerging eight-under champion as Lie Pacinete rompedy away with the MVP honors while the Junior Malditas topped the girls 14-under with Sanaa Jikiri hailed as MVP.

Other teams entered were Southpoint School, Arki Concepts, Matina, Catalunan Grande, Brainworks, Real Davao, Good Soil Academy, Philippine Women's College, among others.
