‘Visita Iglesia’ visits Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The three-man exhibit of veteran journalists Bong Lacson, Peter Alagos, and Deng Pangilinan called "Visita Iglesia: Edifices of the Kapampangan Faith Revisited" visited SM City Pampanga on Monday.

Now on its second year, the more than 100-photograph display of 16 churches and four chapels in Pampanga has toured the SM Mall of Asia, SM City Southmall, and SM City North Edsa.

The trio said the photographs were meant not only for the eyes to feast, but for the spirit to marvel on.

"This exhibit of Pampanga churches and chapels is our gift to Pope Francis. Our objective is to deepen and express faith on the Catholic Church and the Lord," Pangilinan told Sun.Star Pampanga.

Alagos shared that he, Lacson, and Pangilinan, shot over 800 photographs each (total of 2,400) to come up with the "Visita Iglesia"

"We had to consider logistics. But each of us shot around 800 photos each and then culled out from that the best from our lenses for this exhibit," he said.

Lacson noted some "miracles" during the shoots.

"Like the particular photos of Betis Church which were taken at dusk. We were not provided with lighting and did not use the flash. But miraculously, the outcome was of great quality. All the photographs are raw and have not been retouched or enhanced with Photoshop or any other software," he said.

The trio said they are inviting everyone to the "Visita Iglesia" exhibit, which is sponsored by Canon Philippines, the Provincial Government of Pampanga and SM City Pampanga.
