GMA-7 talents Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez will reunite on the big screen through romantic-comedy movie "My Lady Boss."
Produced and set to be released by GMA and Regal Films, the movie tells the story of two different people who will later on discover themselves romantically involved with each other.
Marian will play the role of Evelyn, a strict brand manager who is loathe by her employees for her ruthless work attitude. Richard, on the other hand, will breathe life to Zach, a rich boy who was coerced by his grandfather to join the work force after his business went downhill.
According to Richard, the new movie is different from their past projects because they've matured as actors and maintained that on-screen chemistry through the years.
"This time around we portray mature characters but at the same time we kept it light, and andun parin yung comedy side. That's going to be the edge of this movie, seeing me and Marian on a different light," Richard said.
He added that after doing "Seduction," which was geared for the mature audience, "My Lady Boss" is refreshing to do because it tackles a very different plot and requires different brand of acting. The actor said it's a feel good movie.
"As an actor it is good to diversify and to explore. Pinili ko talaga yung project na Seduction before this one. Gusto ko may variety. As an actor also, I feel na-challenge ako in both films. I think this is the right time for this project," he said.
This movie is also a reunion project of the two. The last film they did together was "My Boyfriend's Girlfriend" in 2008.
Richard said doing "Extra Challenge (Extreme)" before filming this movie helped them rekindle their on-screen chemistry and he also got the chance to bond with Marian again.
"Relax parin kami sa isa't isa, kumportable parin kami. Pwede kaming magtawanan on the set kahit na seryoso ang eksena. Pwede din kami mag-usap kahit ano," he said.
In the movie both Marian and Richard's characters are working in the tech business. When asked what is the selling point of the film? The actor replied: "It's new, innovative and fresh. People will be able to relate to it."
Directed by Jade Castro, "My Lady Boss" premiers on April 10 in theaters nationwide. (Sunnex)
