CEBU CITY -- In observance of the Holy Week, Sun.Star website at www.sunstar.com.ph will once again join every Filipino Christian here and abroad in commemorating the passion and death of Jesus Christ.
Sun.Star, in partnership with Smart Communications Inc. and Needs and Solutions Inc., will stream live the “Siete Palabras,” “Sugat,” and the Easter Sunday mass, as these traditions have always been an important event observed by Filipino Christians throughout the world.
Siete Palabras, the communal recitation of the Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ, will be streamed live from the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral on Good Friday, from 12 noon until 3 p.m., with Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma as main celebrant.
Sugat, a Filipino tradition done at dawn on Easter Sunday, featuring the reenactment of the meeting between the Virgin Mary and the Risen Christ, will be aired live at 3 a.m.
The Barkada performers of Barangay Pardo and the San Diego Dance Troupe will once again highlight the event, which will be held outside the main gate of the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
After the "Sugat Presentation and Procession of the Statues of the Risen Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary," Sun.Star will then air live the Easter Mass, with Archbishop Palma as main celebrant. The Mass will begin at 5 a.m.

The live streaming of these events aims to bring the tradition to those who cannot attend the activity at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
