Aeronautics school to launch in Guimaras

AN AERONAUTICS school designed to train airport workers will be launched on April 17 at the Guimaras State College in Barangay Alaguisoc, Jordan, Guimaras.

Provincial legal officer lawyer Elijo Sharon Billones said the school will complement and prepare prospective local airport workers to be absorbed at the local airport designed for chartered flights of tourists in the island province.

Billones, also officer-in-charge of the provincial tourism office, said Guimaras Governor Felipe Hilan Nava is working closely with the Department of Tourism (DOT) for the revival of the local airport, a project of former Guimaras Governor Emily Lopez.

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) was recently inked between the Provincial Government of Guimaras and Lopez family patriarch, industrialist Oscar Lopez for the revival of the airport project.

Billones said the Lopez patriarch assured full support to the airport project.
