Lawmaker’s party to hold rally today

THE slate of An Waray party-list Representative Florencio ‘Bem’ Noel is holding a grand rally today, Friday, which is expected to gather at least 21,000 supporters at the Leyte Sports Development Center.

A motorcade, which is set to gather the councilor bets from the different parts of Tacloban City, will converge from various points and will end up at the Leyte Sports Development Center for the grand rally. Vice Mayor Arvin Antoni and Noel will lead the motorcade.

Aside from Antoni and Noel, also joining the motorcade are Raissa Villasin, Cesar Separa, Ace Young, Liberty Jane Sumayod, Evangeline Esperas, Rudy Calabria, Neil Glova, Jose Mario Bagulaya, Jerry Uy, and Dalisay Erpe.

Senatorial candidates Francis Escudero and Grace Poe-Llamanzares, with Presidential sister Kris Aquino are expected to join on-stage to show support to Noel’s mayoralty bid. Noel is running independent while his running mates Antoni, Bagulaya, Separa, Calabria, Villasin, Young, Erpe, Glova, Esperas, Uy, and Sumayod are running under the Liberal Party (LP)

Expected to attend the rally are members of various groups including Barangay ni Nanay, Sikap Buhay, Kabataan han Bag-o Nga Tacloban, jeepney drivers (PODA), urban poor organizations, business sectors in Tacloban, alliances of young professionals in the city, and SOLID group composed of former barangays chairmen and councilors of the city.

Bem Noel’s slate, which bears the theme “Bag-o nga Tacloban,” is banking on votes since March 31 from various sectors in the city, the masses, and all those who cry for a change in the city’s leadership and governance. (Leyte Samar Daily Express)
