Young Dabawenyos meet celebrity chef

SEVERAL Dabawenyo students and graduates were privileged to attend the one-day cooking demo of Chef Giuseppe Morisco, a finalist of the Masterchef US Season 2 and the owner of Morisco Restaurant at SM Lanang Premier, in Davao City recently.

Chef Giuseppe is famous for his adept skill and knowledge about preparing a palatable authentic Italian cuisine. Indeed, how lucky these young Dabawenyos were to have witnessed for themselves how to prepare a sumptuous serving of Italian dish.

The celebrity chef is no less than the son of Gaitano Morisco, or popularly known as "Don Beppe" of Don Beppe Pizza & Pasta Restaurant, located at The Peak of Gaisano Mall of Davao. Both Chef Giuseppe and his father, Gaitano share the same expertise at making authentic Italian dish.

Chef Giuseppe is among the 10 contestants in Masterchef US Season 2, a competitive cooking reality show, co-hosted and co-produced by Chef Gordon Ramsey.

At present, Moriscco lives in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, with his wife and son, where he shares his knowledge and passion by giving cooking classes, demonstrations to food enthusiasts, and hosting culinary vacations – the Food Lover's Retreats.

He manages Food Lover's Retreats in the Tropical Paradise Resort in Costa Rica.

When Chef Giuseppe Morisco was eliminated from the Masterchef US Season 2 finals, one thing which Gordon Ramsey likes about him is, "His passion for cooking is extraordinary and his heart is one of the biggest they have ever seen in this competition.”
