Lexmark among ‘best corporate citizens’

FOR the third straight year, Lexmark International made it to the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Magazine’s “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list.

Lexmark was among public companies recognized for their performance in environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy.

The annual list for CR Magazine identifies standout performance of public companies across the United States.

“As a global corporate citizen, Lexmark is committed to acting as a socially responsible company,” the statement said.

In Cebu, the company said their employees are constantly doing their part in living up to the company’s corporate and social responsibilities through their annual Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

These activities include adopt-an-hectare, mangrove planting, feeding program, tree planting, Gawad Kalinga activities, medical missions and school clean-ups.

“This recognition is a reflection of the combined effort of all Lexmark employees globally. Lexmark will continuously share the passion for community service, learning, and environmental protection as it aims to be a socially responsible company,” the firm said.

Lexmark recently shifted to the mixed hardware-and-software business, following their decision to let go of its inkjet business last year to improve profitability.

The company said “it now brands itself as a provider not just of printing or imaging products and services, but of solutions to help businesses become efficient by staying on top of their masses of structured and unstructured information.”

It added that their re-positioning in the market will provide access to solutions to accelerate work productivity for large companies and small and medium sized enterprises, including but not limited to financial institutions, global manufacturing firms, hospitals and government.

Lexmark logged revenues of $2.3 billion in 2012.
