CFA sends coaches to Fifa grassroots course

IN AN attempt to improve the quality of grassroots football in Cebu, the Cebu Football Association (CFA) has sent three coaches to the weeklong Fifa Grassroots Development Officers Course in San Carlos City.

The CFA sent Totot Colina as Cebu's represenative, while coavhes Marlou Solon and Edwin Arganza are tagging along to observe the course that started last April 6 and will end on Saturday.

Colina and company will impart their knowledge learned from the course.

“We will train the school teachers, coaches and the football community in Cebu about the grassroots,” Colina, the assistant coach of University of San Carlos (USC) college team and a Cebu Elite team coach, told Sun.Star Cebu.

The instructor of the FIFA Grassroots Development Officers Course is Swiss grassroots coach Sam Schweingruber.

Schweingruber is a Fifa Grassroots instructor based in Cambodia that had done wonders for the grassroots development of the Southeast Asian country.
