Canon holds annual PhotoSkwela

IN ORDER to reach out and connect to customers and the grassroots photographers, Canon recently had their Cebu leg of PhotoSkwela in SM City Cebu from June 29 to 30.

Renowned advertising photographer Mark Floro and wedding videographer Jason Magbanua headed the classes.

The Canon PhotoSkwela is a project that started three years ago in order to give free photography lectures to Canon users and photographers. They hold more than 10 PhotoSkwela all over the country annually.

“We want to show that beyond selling, this is what we do,” Ryan Esguerra, head of the regional operations Visayas for Canon Marketing, Inc., said.

Many people anticipate the workshop, especially since Canon brings in their ambassadors, who are also the best photographers in the country, to lecture on different photography topics.

Floro, a food photographer for more than four decades, discussed the introduction to Speedlite and food photography. He wanted to teach the basics to photographers while showing the output and samples to the attendees.

Magbanua, on the other hand, taught the basic EOS DSLR videography and wedding film making techniques. He admits that he makes extensive preparations for lectures so as not to waste the attendees’ time.

Both photographers enjoy teaching and imparting their knowledge to photography enthusiasts and look forward to more lectures for Canon. (ADO)
