Philcyling Davao will be spearheading a monthly series of qualifying rounds for Davao City cyclists which will kick-off this July 20 at the Ulas Junction.
“The monthly series of qualifying rounds will help us identify the Davao riders who will compete for the 2013 Batang Pinoy.” said Philcycling deputy secretary for Mindanao Engr. Salvador “Jun” Paholio Jr. in a phone interview with Sun.Star Davao.
The riders will race in a 20 kilometer route from Ulas Junction to Calinan. The qualifier will be exclusively for 15-under cyclists.
The monthly series will end on November and will follow a point system. The top five consistent riders throughout the series will compete in November and the top two of the last leg will compete in the national games. The top three cyclists per month will receive cash prizes.
As of press time there is no number on how many will join the qualifiers.
