Tujan: Music, style, fashion invade mall wide sale

EVERY fashionista at heart and ultimate bargain mongers had a dose of shopping bag overload as the chic mall SM Lanang Premiere, had a Great 3-Day Sale.

Expect that every time the word SALE is heard, everyone seems to be honed in like a heat seeking missile, including myself.

We had a chance to get insider information on top trends, hot deals, and celebrity sightings last July 19-21.

Manila-based male style blogger David Guison and celebrity actress/fashion blogger and stylist Laureen Uy graced a runway show entitled "Lookbook Live," which featured both Laureen's and David's mix and match fashion pieces featuring the hottest fashion trends from participating brands.

Both stars showcased their unique trademarks in fashion sense, with easy to wear, stylish urban look and carefree style.

We had the chance to rub elbows with the two during their media conference dinner at Claw Daddy's. Both showed excitement to meet the press and were so kind enough to answer all the questions thrown to them. They both admitted that stardom isn't what they wished for, although apparently with their millions of following from social media with Laureen's fashion blog site, "" and David's blog site,, it is obvious that they become so popular.

David's blog site, recently won the Best Style Blog from Globe's Tatt Awards 2013.

"Christian Bautista, Victor Basa are two of my favorite best dressed people, they exude grace and glamour," according to David. Lauren on the other hand, looks up to actress Anne Curtis, whom she thinks exude feminity.

"Si Ann kasi is a combination of elegance and confidence that made her a true fashion icon, she's the type who is willing to try almost anything and able to pull it off," she said.

I have to say that David and Laureen surprised me as well, that so many people had turned out to meet and greet them and patiently wait in line.

Saturday was even more exciting, as Korean actress, model and electric rock violinist Eun Joo Park delivered a polished performance and wowed Dabawenyos with her electrifying performance on the violin. Her stint was astounding that audiences love herand her performance complements the overall but I have to admit I can't help but admire her that I also asked to get her autograph and have her picture taken.

All eyes were on her as she seduced the audience. Her charm and sincerity always shining through her performance, fans cheered as she played Filipino songs like "Anak," "Ikaw" and the Visayan song "Pobreng Alindahaw" to the delight of the crowd.

She embodies youth, talent and entertainment. Not only can Eun Joo Park combine the best of both worlds, pop and classical, she is able to extend that energy towards the audience and draw us into her magic space.

Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT Season 4) finalist MP3 composed of Aries, LJ, and Makoy, completed the Saturday Big sale rush. During the performance, MP3 performed Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror." They also delighted fans at the Fountain Court with their unique take on pop covers and acoustic renditions of the songs "Move like Jagger," "Beauty and the Beat," "Ipagpatawad Mo," "Payphone," "Baby I Love Your Way," On and On, Man in the Mirror, Mahirap Magmahal ng Syota ng Iba, among others.

Thanks to Ms Acey and Ms Apple for the invites. Even if I had to juggle being in two places at the same time. And as expected in every mall sale it ended taking about three days only to get my wallet dried out. But it was worth it anyway.
