UC faces USJ-R in Cesafi

HIGH-WIRE action resumes this afternoon as two hungry teams collide in the collegiate division of the 2013 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

The University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars will try to regain their form as they face the University of Cebu Webmasters at 6:45 p.m. following the UC Baby Masters and the Don Bosco Technological Center Greywolves high school match at 5 p.m.

After their loss last Saturday, the Jaguars are in a good position for their second win against the struggling Webmasters, who lost their first game last Aug. 3.

Both teams lost to the nine-time champion University of the Visayas Green Lancers.

USJ-R suffered a 91-80 setback, while the Webmasters got thrashed, 82-61.

Again, USJ-R coach Edito Salacot will try to rally his team behind his top performing Rendell Senining and Fletcher Galvez in trying to recover after getting knocked down by the Lancers.

The other dependable guys on the Jaguars side are James Regalado, Miguel Tabaloc, Kyle Lajato and brothers Christian and Matthew Parker.

However, the Webmasters are no pushovers either.

Coach Roehl Gomez is going to capitalize on new center Johnny Sigasig along with the burly forward Kent Niones, and Noel Villanueva.
