(Updated 11:53 a.m.) Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region and the Cordilleras will continue to experience monsoon rain that may trigger flashfloods and landslides, the state weather bureau said in its 5:00 a.m. advisory Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, while Tropical Storm Maring (Trami) has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat) still affects Luzon.
Pagasa also said, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, as well as Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the skies of Palawan, Bicol region, and Visayas shall be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain or thunderstorms.
At 11:00 a.m., Pagasa terminated its yellow rainfall alert over Metro Manila. However, it said, light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are still expected over the National Capital Region.
"Moderate to heavy with occasionally intense rainfall is expected over Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, portions of Zambales and Rizal and most likely to continue for the next three hours," Pagasa also said.
The state weather bureau also issued a gale warning on the seaboards of Luzon due to the Southwest Monsoon.
"Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves (3.4-5 m)," said Pagasa. (Sunnex)
