THE Ateneo de Davao University Lady Blue Knights spanked Our Lady of Fatima (Olfa), 25-4, 25-10, in the ongoing high school girls eliminations of the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (Dacs) Sportsfest 2013 at the Assumption College of Davao (ACD) on Tuesday night.
The Ateneo volleybelles relied on their vast experience and power spikes to enter the winning column along with Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Smad) Marisians who demolished St. Peter's College of Toril (SPCT), 25-16, 25-21 in another game.
Also sharing the limelight were the Holy Cross College of Sasa Captains and the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), St. Paul College of Pasig Paulinians, Holy Cross of Babak Saints and the ACD Warriors.
HCCS Lady Captains recovered from a first set loss to beat the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), 20-25, 25-20, 25-14 while the UIC Lady Eagles turned back St. Joseph School of Toril Josephinians, 25-11, 25-16.
The SPCP Paulinians, for their part, hacked out a 25-17, 25-10 win over Holy Cross College of Calinan Lady Evangelizers, 25-17, 25-10, while HCB Saints whipped Assumption Academy of PeƱaplata Blue Marlins, 25-17,25-18.
The ACD Warriors, meanwhile, walloped San Pedro College (SPC) Blue Stallions, 25-7, 25-9 in the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF)-Mindanao-sanctioned volleyfest.
Elimination games will resume today. Quarter-finals and semi-finals will be held on Friday and the championship is set on Saturday.
