Miascor opens VIP Lounge at Davao airport

WANT to relax prior to your departure, or already bored of waiting for your delayed flight? Here's one for you.

Miascor, or the Manila Integrated Airport Services Corp., a premier ground handling agency in the Philippines and is a member of the IATA Ground Handling Council, recently opened a VIP Lounge at the second floor of Davao International Airport (DIA) or the Francisco F. Bangoy International Airport.

The DIA passenger lounge, the first to be established outside Manila and one among several products and services offered by Miascor, formally opened on August 17 with a promise to provide comfort and relaxation to departing passengers.

Marian Arambulo, general manager of Miascor Groundhandling Corp., said Davao Region promises to become as one among favorite destinations of both local and foreign visitors considering its tourism potentials.

"We are confident of the market here. In fact, we are already good if we capture even only 10 percent of thousands of passengers departing Davao City every day," she said.

There are more than 20 outgoing flights at the DIA daily.

"This is our first outside Manila. By October, we will be opening another lounge at Mactan International Airport in Cebu," Arambulo said.

Tina Noel, Miascor Lounge manager, said the VIP Lounge is open to all departing passengers, regardless of the airline of their choice.

"This is not exclusive or by membership. Any departing passengers can avail of our services here," she said.

Of course, with a fee. Noel said for only P380, one can avail of their unlimited snacks, consisting of pica-pica and drinks prepared by a local caterer, while relaxing in a very cozy atmosphere. The lounge is also equipped with LED-screen cable TV, Wi-fi connection, baggage and coat area and flight information and paging system.

It is manned by a crew who are ready to accommodate and attend to the needs of the passengers.

And while other cafes at the airport open later in the morning and close earlier in the evening, the lounge makes sure it is ready to serve passengers who have opted to take the earliest and the latest flights departing at DIA.

"We are open as early as 3 a.m. and we close until the last plane out," Noel said.

Miascor was organized in 1981 to provide airlines with a choice of a viable alternative ground handler. It operates in major airports all over the country -- Manila, Cebu, Davao, Clark and Kalibo.

It prides itself with a distinctive quality service which caters to the need of its clientele in the ever dynamic aviation industry. It delivers handling professionally and efficiently to practically all types of aircraft, from executive jets to the largest and most complicated wide-bodied passenger and freighter aircraft.

It is the only aviation service company in the Philippines that provides "one-stop-Shop" service (i.e. ground handling, in-flight catering, customs-bonded warehouse, line maintenance and ULD assembly & repair) for incoming and outgoing international and domestic flights.
