Robredo's aide recalls ill-fated crash in 'Bingit'

GMA Network is set to boost its weekend afternoon programming with the newest human drama program "Bingit."

The 45-minute show will center on the highly-emotional re-enactment of the chain of events leading to the actual accidents or life-threatening circumstances as told by the person involved.

Using the elements of interview, dramatization, actual footage, and photos, the program will magnify how one's decision, coupled with the power of the human spirit, can overcome any situation.

For its pilot episode, the show will feature the story of June Abrozado, aide and lone survivor in the plane crash that killed former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo last August 18, 2012.

According to Enri Calaycay, Program Manager of "Bingit," this is the first time that Abrozado will share his story on television after the accident and death of Robredo.

She added that the production team really wanted to kick-off the program with Abrozado's recollection of last year's event in time for the Feast Penafrancia in Naga this September.

To recall, Robredo hailed from Naga and was a devotee of Our Lady of Penafrancia. Abrozado also came from the same province and a follower of the Patroness of Bicol.

Actor Mark Herras plays the role of Abrozado. Herras acts side by side with Vaness del Moral.

Aside from the Abrozado story, "Bingit" will feature the a miracle baby that was rescued when MV Lady of Mount Carmel capsized in Burias Island, while on its way to Masbate, in June.

For its third episode, the show will share the story of Julio Balanoba, an Ivatan fisherman who was stuck in sea for days after his bangka experienced engine trouble.

He was then found alive off the coast of southern Japan.

Calaycay said "Bingit," a new "infotainment" program will present different stories of celebrities, popular personalities, and ordinary individuals who have experienced near-death situations and was on the tipping point of their lives.

"Bingit" will premiere on Saturday, September 21 at 4 p.m. after "Startalk" on GMA-7.(Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
