Tuloy Foundation gets Haima Fstar from LGC

ANGELES CITY -- The newly opened facility of Tuloy Foundation in Barangay Cuayan in Angeles City received on Monday a new Haima Fstar from the Laus Group of Companies (LGC).

The vehicle donated by LGC will be used for Tuloy Foundation's Bahay Bata Center, a facility that hopes to provide comprehensive rehabilitation program for street children.

The donation was made possible through the initiative of LGC chairman and chief executive officer Levy P. Laus.

Maria Theresa Laus, who represented her husband, said that the donation is part of LGC's corporate social responsibility program.

She said the LGC is supportive of the initiatives of Tuloy Foundation in Pampanga.

"Mr. Laus is very happy with helping Tuloy Foundation. He for one is a graduate of the Don Bosco system and such projects under the Salesians are very close to his heart," Laus said, adding that they are open to possible partnerships with the foundation in the future.

The Tuloy Foundation, which will run the Bahay Bata Center, was founded in 1993 by Fr. Marciano "Rocky" G. Evangelista of the Salesians of Don Bosco with ten lay volunteers committed to the cause of poor, abandoned and homeless children.

Until recently, the Bahay Bata was managed by the Rotary Club of Clark Centennial members. However, according to the deed of donation, the organization could no longer manage it, and thus transferred the responsibility, management and operation to Tuloy Foundation.

The lot, where the center is located, was donated to the local government in November 16, 2000 by Timog Silangan Development Corporation (TSDC). The Center opened on July 25, 2001 and the inauguration ceremony was attended by former President and now Pampanga Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Meanwhile, Fr. Evangelista said that they will soon cater to the needs of street children and other youth needing support in Angeles City and the whole province.

He added that foundation is well known for its formative and training programs to help children with their future. (Ian Ocampo Flora/Sun.Star Pampanga)
