PNP announces gun license requirements

THE Ifugao Provincial Police Office has announced the requirements and procedures in acquiring licenses to own and possess firearms (LTOPF).

Applicants must file a written application to own and possess firearms at the Firearms and Explosive Office (FEO) of the Provincial Command in three legible copies duly notarized.

The application must be accompanied by the following:

1) Clearance from the Regional Trial Court and Municipal Trial Court that has jurisdiction over the place where the applicant resides.

2) Neuro-psychiatric clearance issued by the PNP Health Service and its accredited psychologist or psychiatrist.

3) A certification that the applicant has passed the drug test conducted by the PNP Crime Laboratory or any accredited and authorized drug testing laboratory or clinic.

4) A certification that the applicant has passed a gun safety and responsible gun ownership seminar which is administered by the PNP or a registered and authorized gun club.

5) National Police Clearance.

6) NSO Birth Certificate.

7) Proof of latest billing.

8) At least two valid IDs (one government issued ID).

9) Income tax Return, Certificate of Employment, Business Permit or any appropriate document as proof of income. 

Additional requirements for government employees are a copy of Appointment Order, Oath of Office; for Military Reservists-J9 Clearance, and for retired government employees-a retirement order or appropriate document.

Applicants must pay a total of P2,080 in fees. (DBC)
