DCSP, Agro keep unbeaten slates

THE DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP) Mariners and Agro-Industrial Foundation College (AIFC) Sailors kept their unbeaten slates after defeating their respective rivals in the Davao Champions League held in two separate venues yesterday and Friday.

DCSP Mariners routed AMA Computer College Titans, 68-58, at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym yesterday to grab their fourth straight win in bracket B of the inter-collegiate cagefest presented by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. (PPPI) and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region 11.

AMA, which hacked out a 72-67 win over San Pedro College (SPC) Blue Stallions on Thursday, dropped to a 2-2, win-loss card.

SPC, for its part, slumped to a 0-3 mark after bowing to the University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats, 58-78, in their Friday game held at John Paul II College of Davao.

The UM Wildcats grabbed its second win after three outings.

The Agro Sailors, meanwhile, sank STI Olympians, 66-52, to post their third straight victory in bracket C. STI struggled at the cellar with a 0-4 record.

Games were still being played as of yesterday presstime.

Last elimination games are set today also at RMC Gym. Agro plays RMC Bulldogs at 1 p.m. while the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Eagles clashes against SPC at 2:30 p.m.

The Ateneo de Davao University Blue Knights collides with JPCD Saints at 4 p.m. then Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings goes up against Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) Sharks at 5:30 p.m.

The top two teams in each bracket after the eliminations will again play a single elimination where the first four squads will advance to the crossover semi-finals en-route to the championship that offers P15,000 to the champion team.
