CATCH Fire rally, an evangelical activity that started in Manila City four years ago, is brought for the first time in Davao City.
Members of the four Catholic communities -- the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP), Couples For Christ (CFC), Ligaya ng Panginoon, Holy Trinity Community and Familia -- will no longer have to travel to Manila to join the Catch Fire prayer rally.
CFC Southeastern Mindanao head Noel Dacalos said in a media briefing held last Friday that they are expecting about 2,000 to 3,000 participants to the rally, which is a once in a year and free for everybody.
Dacalos said they are planning to stage the event on November 22 with a theme “One King, One people, and one nation.”
“The capacity of the venue is about 2,000 to 2,500; we hope to fill it up,” Dacalos said, adding the event will start with healing, celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a Bible sharing that will take five to seven minutes, and a teaching activity.
A catch fire run, a fund-raising program that promotes healthy lifestyle, will also be held a week before the prayer rally.
Tom Tan, organizer of the event, said the catch fire run will start on November 15 at 5 p.m. The registration will start a month before the event and the registration center will be at the Victoria Plaza.
