Police secure election ballots

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is securing the election ballots at the Bacolod Arts and Youth Center for the October 28 barangay election, Police Station 1 chief Lester Leada said.

Leada said Commission on Election (Comelec) officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia has requested the BCPO to provide police personnel in the Comelec especially at the Bays Center to secure the election paraphernalia.

He said some policemen were already assigned at the Bays Center since last week to secure the election paraphernalia for the October 28 barangay elections.

BCPO acting director Edgardo Ordaniel also assigned some policemen in Station 1 to secure the election ballots in Comelec.

The BCPO also joined the peace caravan yesterday which was initiated by Negros Occidental Joint Peace Security Control Center, BCPO deputy for operation Jefferson Descallar said.

He said the peace caravan was participated by Comelec, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine National Police.

The peace caravan was held in different areas of Negros Occidental including Bacolod City for the peaceful barangay election on October 28, he added.
