Fire destroys P1-M gov’t properties

AN ESTIMATED P1 million worth of properties went up in smoke in a fire that hit the waterfront public market in Zamboanga City.

The Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) said the blaze broke out around 1:25 a.m. Sunday in one of the stalls at the dried fish section of the market.

The fire was placed under control around 2 a.m.

The ZCFD said the fire rapidly spread and razed 21 stalls of dried fish and other dry goods products.

Investigation continues to determine the cause of the fire. (Bong Garcia)
