2nd Barug Visayas show set today at SM

THE second Barug Visayas concert is set today, Nov. 22, at SM City Cebu Event Centre.

The show starts at 1 to 7 p.m.

With the efforts of Barug organizers Valrock, MC Rey and Private Ryan, the show is headlined by Visayan acts Anna Fegi, Jay-R Siaboc and Rommel Tuico.

This would be the second relief campaign staged by the organizers, with the concert in Fuente Osmena last Oct. 27 being the first.

SM Foundation is the donation recipient.

With the theme, Barug, which stands for Bring Aid, Relief, Unitya and Generosity, the organizers urged the public to bring their donations, such as food, water, personal hygiene, medicines, mats, or cash to SM foodcourt area where they can enjoy the performances of bands, dancers, comedians and solo acts. Drop off area for bulk donations is at gate 3 entrance, the spot in lower level where taxicabs unload.

Aside from Fegi, Siaboc and Tuico, Junior Kilat frontman Budoy may join the Smooth Friction band, while Dos Companeros is set to tickle the crowd.

Others performing are Abyss, PG 18, Equals Intensity with Valrock, Cebu Beatboxers with MC Rey, Scramble Rhymes, Diego Salvador, Junior Troubadours, Skamurds, Sound Merge, Cebuano Estelos, Aftershock Dancers, 032 Soldiers, Gunless Society, Iron Blues, Private Ryan, Chris B., Trimetrics, Justreal Crew dancers, Jan Michael Banaynal and Aetheneum Dancers.
Sam Costanilla will join emcees Private Ryan and MC Rey.

Meanwhile, SM Foundation Inc. went to Ormoc City last Nov. 15 and 16 to distribute 10,000 relief goods to the typhoon survivors not just in the city but in the neighboring areas as well.

The foundation also went to Barangay San Pablo in Ormoc and brought their mobile van for the free electrocardiogram or ECG test and x-ray services. Medical doctors were provided by the City Health Office.

A total of 329 patients availed themselves of the medical mission, where free medicines were also provided by the foundation.
