Marian wins acting trophy, gears up for Asian TV Awards

MARIAN Rivera said her latest acting trophy at the 27th Star Awards for Television will serve as an inspiration once she fly to Singapore to attend the Asian Television Awards (ATA).

The Kapuso actress personally accepted her Best Drama Performance by an Actress award for defunct primetime series "Temptation of Wife" Sunday evening at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

In an interview right after the ceremony, Marian said the trophy will serve as an inspiration and a challenge at the same time to better her craft in the business.

Some believed her latest win is a prelude to what could happen in ATA at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore on December 5. But for the actress, she's expecting nothing.

Manalo man or matalo, para sa amin panalo kami."

She will compete against seasoned actress Lorna Tolentino, Taiwan's Jade Chou and Wen-Lin Fang, Malaysia's Debbie Goh and Hong Kong's Kate Tsui Tsz-shan in the Best Actress in Leading Role category.

Manalo or matalo, basta nominado," said Marian.

Meanwhile, Marian was received warmly by the Vietnamese when she recently visited their country. The actress was invited by a TV Station which syndicated her programs "Marimar," "Dyesebel" and "Temptation of Wife."

With all the blessings she's receiving now, Marian believes it's her responsibility to give back. And with the recent calamity that hit Eastern Visayas, the actress shared she will be in Cebu this Monday to help GMA Kapuso Foundation in distributing relief in affected families.

After her visit in the said province, she will travel to Iloilo on Thursday to help boyfriend Dingdong Dantes’ Yes Pinoy Foundation in similar relief effort.

When asked for comment on bashers questioning the help given by actors and other television personalities, Marian said the bottom line is that one could be of help to others.

(Sunnex)
