3 more killed in shooting incidents

THREE more victims were killed in separate shooting incidents in Davao City on Wednesday.

The first incident happened around 5 p.m. at Condrado Billiard Hall on Watosi Street in Buhangin, wherein the victim was identified as Erlito Fabian Esperancilla, 36, of Sto. Nino in Buhangin.

Buhangin police said the victim was loitering inside the billiard hall when two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle arrived. One of them alighted from the motorcycle and suddenly shot the victim in close range several times.

Esperancilla died on the spot.

According to witnesses, the driver and the gunman were both wearing a full cover helmet.

Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operative (Soco) under Senior Superintendent Jesus Vintuan arrived at the crime scene and recovered one live ammunition, two empty shells, and one deformed slug of caliber.45 pistol.

Both suspects fled to undisclosed direction while the body of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor. The recovered bullets are now subject for ballistic examination at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory-Davao.

The second shooting happened around 6:40 p.m. at Caburao Store in Barangay Angalan in Tugbok District, where the victim was identified as Elizar Romagos Yungot, 34, who hails from Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur and transient resident of Purok 5 Naming.

Initial investigation conducted by Mintal police showed that the victim and his friends were having a drinking session in the area when an unidentified man shot him twice in the head.

Soco members who arrived at the crime scene declared the victim dead, and recovered one deformed slug and one empty shell. Bullets are now subject for ballistic examination at the PNP Crime Laboratory-Davao.

After the incident, the killer just left while the cadaver of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor in Calinan.

The police learned through the live-in partner of the victim that the latter was involved in some illegal activities like robbery in Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur. The victim was just released from Digos City Jail due to a murder case.

The third incident happened around 9:30 p.m. in Barangay 23-C, wherein the victim was identified as Allan Olamat Olazo, 31, of the same place.

Initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police showed that a concerned citizen heard several gunshots, prompting him to go out from the house and check the neighborhood. He then saw the victim lying on a wooden bridge.

The victim was declared dead with multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. His body was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor.

Personnel of Buhangin Police Station, Mintal Police Station, and Sta. Ana Police Station are already conducting follow-up investigation for the possible identities and arrest of the suspects.
