Guard pretending to be cop nabbed

POLICE arrested a security guard for allegedly identifying himself as police officer after he was involved in a dispute with a barangay official in Barangay 8-A Exodus in Davao City on Saturday morning.

The suspect was identified as Warren Boyd Saliog Abbu, 39, security officer under the Cavaliers Security Agency, and a resident of NHA Bangkal.

The complainant was identified as Ariel Libres Lagmay, 46, chief of Barangay 8-A.

Records at San Pedro police showed that the suspect was arrested at around 1 a.m. at Gatdula Village in Madapo Hills.

According to the complainant, he just flagged down the suspect who was driving a white Kia vehicle with plate number MFE-404 for overspeeding.
Lagmay said the suspect acted arrogantly and introduced himself as a police officer.

"Unsa man ka? Pulis ko! (Who are you? I am a police officer!)," Lagmay quoted the suspect as saying.

Lagmay said the suspect also attempted to pullout something from his black sling bag thus, he sought for police assistance.

The suspect is now detained at the San Pedro police station. He is facing charges for Usurpation of Authority under the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
