CSC releases October 13 exam result

THE CIVIL Service Commission (CSC) released the October 13 eligibility tests results Wednesday. The names of passers are now uploaded at the agency’s official website.

The commission administered the Civil Service Exam- Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) also known as Career service examination in 143 testing sites nationwide with 86% taking the professional level with the rest taking the sub professional level.

In Cordillera, CSC’s Examination Division chief Ronald Buen said the two types of exam were conducted in four testing centers namely Baguio City; Bangued, Abra; Lagawe, Ifugao; and Luna, Apayao. He revealed 901 passed the professional level out of 5,705 examinees while 199 passed the sub-professional level from the 1,356 examinees. He added the passing rate of the region is 15.79 percent for professional while 14.67 percent for sub professional.

Prior to the October 13 exam, an earlier test was also conducted in April 14 when 4,369 passed the professional level while 1,076 made it to the passers’ list for sub-professionals. The passing rate for this earlier exam is higher than the recent examination October.

Buen explained the national office will determine the top 10 passers nationwide while they will also come up with their list of top 10 passers in Cordillera based on the passers’ rating. The top 10 passers and the mass induction of passers in CAR will soon be announced.

CSC – Cordillera Regional Director Marilyn Taldo earlier explained the CSE-PPT is a general ability test designed to measure an individual’s preparedness to enter government service. Examinations are conducted in April and October every year. Passers, who get a score of 80 percent or higher, are conferred a Career Service Eligibility, a basic requirement to obtain permanent appointment in government.

There are two levels of CSE-PPT, for the professional and sub-professional. Three-hour test for the professional level includes vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning (English and Filipino). For the latter, exam coverage is almost the same with the inclusion of clerical operations instead of analogy and logic and timed for 2.5 hours.

Questions for both examination levels include general information on the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection.

The public may check the names of passers at the official website of the CSC which is at www.csc.gov.ph.
