Cessna plane crashes at Iba Air strip

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- A Cessna plane has crashed at the Air Strip of Iba, Zambales, Thursday.

The plane's pilot, Hakal Hazmiwdodo, 19, an Indonesian national, managed to bail out from the aircraft before it crashed, Senior Superintendent Manuel Abu, Zambales Police Provincial director, said.

Abu said the Cessna plane 152 with number RP C1736 with “All Asia Aviation Academy” was landing at the Air Strip when it incurred a mechanical defect.

While the plane was landing, its front landing gear separated causing it to skid on the pavement of the air strip by about 50 meters away from the point of landing, he said. (Ric Sapnu)
