City braces for more developments in 2014, 2015

ILOILO City is bracing up for more development investments in 2014 and 2015 as the city was selected by big industry players in the Philippines.

City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the developments showed the city’s business attraction and trust of big investors to elevate the city as a big player soon.

Last week, Duty Free Philippines opened at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo. By middle of 2014, the first Ayala hospital in the city will be opened to the public.

Before 2014 ends, Ayala stores will be opened in the city and by early 2015, Puregold Iloilo will materialize in the city.

Before the end of 2014, the multi-billion peso investment of Megaworld Corp., which is located at the 23-hectare-old airport property, will be opened together with the Richmonde Hotel, Marriot Courtyard Hotel, and a fashionable shopping mall for named brands including a Rustan branch in the city.

The city is also bracing for the construction of a multi-million peso International Convention Center at the Megaworld property to host international conferences and other theater arts performances.
