Hear, Dare and Every Ware

Who is taking care of tourism promotion for Bacolod?

Tourism stakeholders and the business sector are curious to find out who is really responsible in handling the tourism promotions of Bacolod. Many insist that hoteliers and restaurateurs are not the right people to promote tourism for Bacolod because they have business interests to serve.

It would be worth listening to the leaders of the tourism group that the city government has endorsed to make good the tourism programs for the city. Maybe Tourism Officer Butch Gerasmo can tell the truth to the residents.

Baywalk should be converted into a wholesome tourist venue

If there were problems with the permits of that Baywalk property in Bredco the last time, many believe that should not be a reason not to pursue its business plans. Investors’ money is at stake and must not be put to waste. For sure, Mayor Monico of Bacolod will be able to help the investors in the business plan to promote tourism. But the place should not be a honky place where there are no buildings to dine in and nice ambience to make the residents bring their guests in. It must be a wholesome place worth going to also.

DPWH Bacolod, please wake up

The residents are clamoring that you in government should do your work and please bring some asphalt material or cement, whichever is available and paste over those holes in the highway near Petron Station before you reach the big Sum-ag bridge. The residents will thank you for the works. Will you please do it? The residents are begging if not demanding. Help, help build good roads, DPWH director.

Oh, those Tiangges are back in front of Cathedral

Oh my God! One domestic tourist exclaimed when she saw tents rising at the Bacolod plaza. Many say that this is a project of the Catholic Church and income goes to them for many years because that portion of the public plaza “belongs” to the Church. If this is true, is there no other way that the Church could do business? Not by putting those eye sores that looks shameful to the city. Who is in charge, please tell the Lord. What do you think, Monsignor?

Calling City Health Office

Is the City Health Office intended only to issue permits and licenses and take hygiene check of commercial sex workers? The CHO is not concerned about those so-called chicken joys, peanuts, squid balls that are sold on the streets of Bacolod. The peanuts and the chicken sold are not covered at all and surely it is filled with pollutants from the air. But why are you strict with restaurants that have better toilets and washing areas? Don’t you care at all, Doctor CHO?
