15 arrested for entering Manila Seedling Bank

FIFTEEN individuals were arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) after allegedly persisting to get inside the Manila Seedling Bank building in Quezon City on Monday night.

SPO3 Modestino Juanchon, desk officer of Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) said that the people arrested, identified as Sylvia Atala, Joanna Orellana, Victor Gando, Darwin Eleoterio, Peter Lagtawan, Diosdado Velasco, Abelardo Manaois, Rafael Monteoro, Melchor Mariano, Pablito Semon, Prudecio Espina, Irvin Pocong, Ruben Dalanon, Fortunato Olog and Allan Simon, were all tenants of Manila Seedling Bank.

According to the police report, these people tried to invade the building by forcefully bumping its gate with an elf truck.

On Monday morning, the Quezon City local government closed the seedling bank due to unpaid taxes amounting to P57.208 million, and for not being able to secure a mayor’s and building permit.

The fifteen were detained in Camp Karingal while waiting for the QCPD to file a case against them.

However the Manila Seedling Bank Foundation Inc. insisted their right to the seven-hectare land in Agham Road, Barangay Pagasa in accordance to the Proclamation 1670 of the law. (Sunnex)
