THE University of the Visayas Baby Lancers and the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors are fighting for survival as they engage against each other in the continuing semifinal round of the 2015 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) high school basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum at 1 p.m.

Both UV and USC dropped their first semifinal assignments and winning this match is crucial if they want to stay in the race for the slot to the final round.

UV lost to defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu last Tuesday, while the Baby Warriors lost to the University of Cebu (UC) last Thursday.

Ateneo will try to solidify its chances of getting into the finals when it faces UC at 2:30 p.m. The college games will follow with UC facing defending champion Southwestern University and Cebu Institute of Technology facing the University of Southern Philippines Foundation in the last game.

Man-for-man, the Baby Warriors will be tapping Briedyn Aleyth Smith as a stopper for UV’s Raul Jancork Cabahug.

Aside from Smith, USC also has Alje Mendez, Ken Gato, Neon Echavez and Joshua Laurente while UV coach Abel Bongcaras will try to pin his hopes on Ramish Alforque, Beirn Anthony Laurente, Marvin Rey Oche, Jhiey Paraldo and Jim Paul Amistoso to help Cabahug.
