ITCZ to bring rains to Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA -- The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring light to moderate rains to Visayas and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said "light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over Palawan, Visayas and the rest of Mindanao."

PAGASA also noted CARAGA and Davao will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains that might cause flash floods and landslides.

Other areas, including Metro Manila, will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas.

For Mindanao, light to moderate winds will blow from the southwest.

The state weather bureau further said that coastal waters around the archipelago will be slight to moderate. (PNA/Sunnex)
