From skin care to soul care

DR. VICKI Belo, founder of the Belo Medical Group (BMG), celebrated her 25th year of beautiful services with a special luncheon here in Bacolod. For 25 years, BMG remains the No. 1 medical aesthetic ambulatory clinic in the Philippines.

What started in 1990 when Belo opened her first clinic in Medical Towers in Makati, it now owns and operates nine medical clinics in Manila. It is also increasing with her BMG which has pioneered so many beauty breakthroughs such as liposuction, surgical and non-surgical beauty procedures, lasers and more.

You listen to celebrities and they are quite unanimous in attributing their flawless skin and incredibly good looks to Belo.

Vicki was not able to attend the luncheon. It was Dr. Hayden Kho who came to speak not only of skincare but soul care as well.

Hayden Kho was a ramp model who pursued a medical degree from the University of Sto. Tomas, completed internship at the Makati Medical Center, practiced cosmetic dermatology with the BMG, turned actor and got embroiled in one of the most controversial sex scandals in Asia. This resulted to the revocation of his license to practice medicine by the Philippine Board of Medicine.

When all was lost and living in the abyss of desolation, Kho met Dr. Ravi Zacharias in 2013. This caused a transformation in his life. Kho became a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings. Furthermore, in 2014, Kho went to the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics at the Oxford University to study Christian Apologetics. While studying in Oxford, the Professional Regulation Commission reinstated Kho's medical license, all cases against him were dismissed. Kho attributes all these reconciliations and restorations to his faith in Jesus Christ.

This transfiguration was the meat of Kho’s talk. He focused on a line by Mark Twain: “Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” It was a most fitting phrase for one who owed the world, the people he hurt and most importantly himself—FORGIVENESS. We have a God of second chances. If we truly repent, make amends and beg forgiveness with the sincerest heart, we can be transfigured. That was the Hayden Kho who spoke on that stage that Saturday noon.
