FORMER mayor of Quezon City Ismael "Mel" Mathay Jr. died of heart attack on Christmas Day.
According to reports, Mathay passed away at 9 a.m. Wednesday. He was declared dead on arrival at The Medical City.
His remains will be brought to Christ the King Parish in Greenmeadows Avenue, Quezon City.
He was mayor of Quezon City from 1992 to 2001. He has also served as the vice-governor of Metro Manila commission from 1979 to 1986.
Mathay was also a former congressman of Quezon City. (Sunnex)
