Man shot dead, killers hunted

POLICE are hunting down two unidentified armed men who killed a 21-year-old man at Dumalag 1 in Matina Aplaya in Davao City on Friday afternoon.

Talomo police identified the victim as Ruel Delima Resuento, 21, of the same place. He succumbed to nine gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Initial investigation conducted by the Talomo police showed victim was sitting on a bench at a billiard hall in the area along with his friends around 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to a witness, two unidentified men arrived in the area, and one of them shot the victim several times.

The killers hurriedly fled to unknown direction, while the victim's friends ran and scampered to different direction.

Personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered five fired cartridge cases from the caliber .45 pistol, one empty cartridge from an undetermined gun, three slugs, a .9mm live ammunition, a set of sumpak and sling bag.

The body of the victim was brought to Angel Funeral Homes on Torres Street, while the police are conducting further investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
