ALEX Lecong and Olive Firmeza captured the men’s and women’s 5K titles of the Coca-Cola New Year’s Eve Countdown Run held Tuesday at SM Lanang Premier Fountain Court.
Lecong registered 16 minutes and 16 seconds to race past Alex Fulgencio who timed 16:35 while Arlette Sabarite (16:40) finished third in the men’s event.
In the women’s category, Firmeza checked in at 21:41, besting Karen Macapagal (23:42) and Reymalyn Gutierrez (24:40) who finished second and third, respectively.
The Magbanua won the most number of family members in the run while Gemma Narciso was awarded as the runner with the cutest pet.
Part of the proceeds benefited victims of typhoon Yolanda.
