TWO of the country's biggest stars today, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera, are poised to return to television this month via the upcoming primetime series "The Legal Wife" and "Carmela," respectively.

Angel will be joined by co-Kapamilya actors Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador and JC de Vera in her first TV project for this year.

The series will also serve as De Vera's launching series in ABS-CBN after he signed a two-year network deal in July.

Meanwhile, Marian will be featured in the newest GMA-7 primetime soap "Carmela" opposite Alden Richards. Marian got the role nine months after doing "Temptation of Wife," which gave her the Best Actress nomination in the recently concluded 18th Asian Television Awards.

Created by Suzette Doctolero, the brain behind "My Husband's Lover," the show will be the first on-screen team up of the two.

In a recent interview with the Kapuso Primetime Queen, Marian said she's looking forward to working with the 20-year-old actor and the rest of the cast.

"Sobrang excited ako kung paanong acting ang gagawin ko. Medyo may pagka-mature siya and makakasama ko hindi lang si Alden, may Raymond Bagatsing pa. Ang importante sa akin balik soap opera ako. Excited ako sa mga makakasama ko especially kay Alden," she said.

"The Legal Wife" and "Carmela" will both premiere this January.

Also airing this month is Bianca King's first series on TV5 entitled "Obsession" and newest Kapamilya sitcom "Home Sweetie Home."

Bianca will be joined by Neri Naig, Martin Escudero and Marvin Agustin in "Obsession" while John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga will top bill the ABS-CBN show starting Sunday.

"Home Sweetie Home" will be the second project of John Lloyd and Toni after they did Star Cinema's "My Amnesia Girl" in 2010. (Sunnex)
