Fajardo eyes early return

JUNE MAR Fajardo’s return to the Petron Blaze Boosters line-up might come sooner than expected.

The 6’10” center from Pinamungajan, Cebu, who fans fear may miss the rest of the elimination round, could return on Jan. 8 when Petron faces Barako Bull Energy Colas.

Last Thursday, the former UC Webmasters light up the mood of his teammates when he joined the team practice.

Although Fajardo only did light shooting drills, his improved condition gave the Boosters hope that things would be back to normal once the league leader in rebounding will rejoin the team.

However, coach Gee Abanilla is not rushing things for his prized center.

Fajardo is still waiting for the green light from the country’s top orthopedic doctor Raul Canlas who will conduct a battery of tests.

Fajardo is also undergoing his rehab with the team physical therapist Edward Bacason, who had eliminated the swelling of the right knee.

Although Fajardo is still experiencing pain on his sprained MCL knee from time to time, his diligence and willingness to get back to work made his quick recovery possible.
