Comelec deletes 3 councilors from list of Soce delinquents

COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Christian Robert Lim has cleared three Cebu councilors earlier accused of failing to submit reports of their campaign funds and spending.

Lim, in a letter to Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II, said Cebu Councilors Editha Cabahug and Elstone Dabon of Mandaue City and Louwela Pacilan of Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island have submitted their corrected statements of contributions and expenditures (Soce) and supporting documents.

Cabahug and Dabon complied with the requirement on Dec. 20 while Pacilan submitted her Soce on Dec. 19.

“The listing only includes candidates who have complied on or before 12 noon on Dec. 23, 2013,” read Lim’s Dec. 23 letter to Roxas. The letter was posted on the Comelec website.

Aside from the three, Comelec also cleared a member of the Bohol Provincial Board.

Lim told Roxas that almost a quarter of 99 officials earlier cited for deficiencies have complied with the Comelec requirement.
