Capitol keen on peace and order

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda said over the weekend that the Provincial Government is all-eyes on keeping peace and order in Pampanga, to show the world and the rest of the country that Kapampangans are peace-loving and disciplined.

The governor told Sun.Star Pampanga that the welfare and security of every Kapampangan family is foremost in her administration as well as that of the Provincial Board headed by Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda.

"With the cooperation of our police, heads of towns and cities, barangays and other law implementers and stakeholders, we want to maintain and keep peace and order in the province to ensure the safety of Kapampangans," she said.

The governor noted that in 2013 alone, Capitol distributed some 505 motorcycle patrols in each barangay, along with the provision of more than 10,000 uniforms and auxiliary equipment like radios and flashlights to barangay tanods.

"Added to that, we funded other necessary equipment for our police, vehicles for the SWAT, police stations worth about P3.0 million each, and other requirements like training and response essentials," she said.
