CHARGES were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office (CPO) of Samal on Monday against a man for selling illegal drugs.
Samal Police Station chief Roland Agohob identified the suspect as Juvilito Buot Desabelle, 40, a carpenter, who hails from Cotabato City and transient resident of Purok 5 in Barangay Tagbay of Samal District in Samal.
Agohob, in a text message, said Desabelle was charged with violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) of the Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He added that the suspect was brought before the prosecution office in Babak District, Samal around 11 a.m. Monday for inquest proceedings.
Members of the Samal Police Station and Police Regional Office's Investigation Division arrested the suspect in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tagbay in Samal around 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
Agohob said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to the agent who acted as poseur buyer. He added that the suspect has been long placed under surveillance.
"Labas pasok na iyan siya dito (Davao Region). Hindi nga lang namin nahuli noong una kasi out of stock na siya. Nung nalaman namin na bumalik siya, nag buy-bust operation na kami kaagad," Agohob said.
The suspect is now detained at the Samal Police Station.
