Ordaniel still acting police chief

THE acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said he will remain in his position while waiting for the final decision of the mayor and the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6) on his permanent appointment.

Senior Superintent Edgardo Ordaniel clarified that he is still performing his duties as the acting director as he has not received a relief order.

Ordaniel had earlier said that he is ready to leave because his stay as acting city police director since January 12 last year is long overdue.

He said that if Mayor Monico Puentevella would not reply on his status, the PRO-6 will submit a list of police officials to the mayor who will have to choose the official BCPO director among the officials.

Ordaniel said in his first three months at BCPO, he was assigned as officer-in-charge. After the national elections, he was designated by the Philippine National Police headquarters as acting police director.

Since he has no relief order yet, Ordaniel said he instructed all the station commanders to continue with their operations against illegal gambling. (MAP)
