DAIMLER Group Services Philippines Inc. (DGSP) held a Christmas party and magic show for children housed at the Tinago Evacuation Center in Barangay Tinago, Cebu City last Dec. 18, 2013.
The activity was organized by DGSP employees, with the support of the management, to bring the spirit and warmth of Christmas to children and infants of families affected by super typhoon Yolanda, who stayed at the evacuation center.
The children enjoyed the various activities that DGSP have prepared that included a magic show, a bubble show and the participation of a popular mascot during the food distribution and gift-giving.
DGSP also extended assistance, in cash and in kind, to its 30 employees affected by the Oct. 15 7.2-magnitude earthquake and the Nov. 8 super typhoon Yolanda. Immediately after the two calamities hit the Visayas, the management approved the purchase and release of relief goods for the affected employees and their families as well as for their communities.
Other Daimler companies in the other parts of the world, like Stuttgart in Germany, Spain, Australia, Singapore and Japan, also helped out in the relief operations.
DGSP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, the German automotive and trucks manufacturer known for the brands like Mercedes Benz, Smart, Freightliner and Mitsubishi Fuso, among others.
Daimler AG donated half a million Euros or about P30 million to the German Red Cross to help in funding infrastructure rehabilitation projects for Leyte Province and other areas devastated by Yolanda. This was one of the largest, if not the largest, corporate donations that Daimler AG pledged in its more than 100 years of existence.
